2020 Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

 2020's growing season was warm and dry, however a hail storm in October reduced crops by between 20% and 40%. The resulting wines are very concentrated, with firm tannins at this early stage.

This wine is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 11% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in French oak for 14 months.

Our 2020 Wilyabrup Valley blend is very firm and structured.

Very deep crimson in colour, on the nose toasty oak makes the first impression, followed by ripe red fruits, lavender, rosemary, clove, and black tea. The palate is tightly coiled and powerful, with a spectrum of dark fruits overlaying bright acidity and drying tannin.

This wine will be best enjoyed from 2027- 2030.
