Climate change is the most pressing issue for human survival as we know it. The Carbon Reduction Institute is committed to reducing one of the major contributing factors: the human-induced concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
We contacted the Carbon Reduction Institute about attaining No CO2 certification to reduce and negate the impacts of running our winery.
We had already changed our electricity supply to 100% accredited Green Power prior to contacting the Carbon Reduction Institute. The Carbon Reduction Institute calculated the greenhouse emissions from our fuel usage onsite, employee travel, air travel, waste, nitrous oxide emissions from fertilizer as well as the embodied emissions in the glass bottles, corks and Stelvin caps. The Carbon Reduction Institute also calculated the embodied emissions in producing our fertilizer, as well as the emissions produced in freighting our wines across the world.
Woodlands and the Carbon Reduction Institute are proud to say that every bottle of our wine sold is now truly carbon neutral.
